Dear District 4-C5 Lions,
It is a great honor to announce the Chartering of our newest Lions Club in District 4-C5!
The Rio Linda Elverta Country Lions Club with 25 members, was approved by Lions International yesterday, June 28, 2022. Welcome to our Lion family! The Charter President is Lion Stacey Bastian who was instrumental in forming this new club, along with our District New Club Development Chair, Past Council Chair Derek Ledda.
The Guiding Lions are Past District Governor Nick McNichlolas and Dos Rios Region Chair Jim Fuller. The Sponsoring Club is Woodland Host Lions.
The Rio Linda Elverta Country Lions Club was assigned to the Gordon Zone in the Dos Rios Region.
Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly to Charter this club in our current Lion’s year.
With the addition of the new club, our District membership has grown to 1320 (that makes a net increase of 65 for the year). The Charter Night will be announced very soon.
REMINDER – The New Member fee of $35 will be reinstated by Lions International on July 1, 2022. If your club has not added new members on MyLCI before 10pm on June 30, you will be charged the additional $35 for each, so please be sure to get them entered NOW!

Every year, for many years, the Delta Lions Club has prepared Pear Bread to sell at the Pear Fair, on the last Sunday in July, in Courtland as one of their annual fundraisers to support their Scholarship Program. For a while, we thought that we would not have a pear fair this year, but luck was on our side. We are ready to enjoy the Pear Fair and looking forward to selling many loafs of pear bread. So, if you have time on the 28th, come to Courtland and give us a hand. We would very much appreciate it as will our high school seniors who will receive the scholarships.
