Dear District 4-C5 Club and all members,
Our District has received a $10,000 matching grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) to purchase and stock a Disaster Response trailer. This 7’x 14’ x 6’ tandem axle utility trailer, will serve as a place where Lions will be able to distribute emergency food, water, tools, etc. as collected by Lions and the affected communities.
In order to finalize the purchase and stocking of the trailer, the District needs to raise its matching amount which is $1000. If every club can donate $20.00 (it can come out of your community funds) to this effort, we will be able to purchase and stock this trailer before Thanksgiving. If a club or individual wishes to donate more than the $20, any funds above and beyond the matching amount will be used to keep the trailer stocked as the money will go into a Disaster Response Trailer restricted account.
Just so you know, the trailer will be towed to any area within our District that has suffered from a wildfire, flood, earthquake or any other sort of natural disaster. The trailer will be dispatched as needed by the direction of the District Governor, by the District Disaster Preparedness/Disaster Response Team. FYI, District 4-C1, our neighbors to the north, has used their trailer a lot over the last few years.
Please send your donation to District 4-C5, 6921 Mitchlen Court, Sloughhouse, CA 95683 and please put DISASTER RESPONSE TRAILER in the memo section.
Thank you in advance for your generous donations. Please see picture on 2nd page. If more information is needed, please contact me at mikeretzlaff@sbcglobal.net.
Sincerely,
PDG Michael C. Retzlaff
Michael C. Retzlaff, District Disaster Preparedness/Response Chairman
